Conscious choices

Whether you realize it or not, you make thousands of choices each day. You decide what to do, eat, drink, think, believe feel and perceive about the situation you find yourself in throughout the day.

Just think about it - all those choices, and every one matters

In the long run it’s all the little choices we make each day, in each moment that creates the quality of our lives. It’s very important therefore to try to investigate your decisions in terms of their consequences in your life. Is this self serving and uplifting or defeating? You’ll be amazed by the power you feel by bringing conscious awareness to such daily choices. Where do you give away energy?

After splurging on your favorite meal do you obsess for hours, giving your power away to some food ingested long ago?

Anytime you give your power away to something outside yourself, you are actually disconnecting from your inner world, taking all that life force energy and giving it away to the outer world- a world that’s out of your control.

Now is the time to take back your power, energy and peace. Life is not black and white it’s grey It doesn’t have to be all or none, black or white, right or wrong.

Can you find the middle road?

Can you find balance?

Can you find compassion and forgiveness of self when you make a choice that maybe wasn’t in your best interest and can you move on?

Perfectionism is a road of empty promises; of I’ll be happy when.

But that "when" never comes because we find a funny way of keeping our self just out of reach. Perfectionism whispers you’re not good enough, its soul sucking and energy draining.

And just around the corner from perfectionism is self-abuse.

If you are not living in a way that supports your souls highest expression, you’ll inevitably fall prey to self defeating patterns and ways of being that keep you stuck.

I invite you to have higher goals for yourself. To get still enough to hear the whispers of your souls deepest desires. To ask yourself what really matters and are you living in alignment, making conscious choices with what you truly value?

I promise you when you tap into that inner resource then real shifts can happen that give rise to miracles in your life.

I challenge you to make a commitment to yourself and begin to bring more conscious awareness to your everyday choices.

Evocation I am a bringer of light.

I use my life vessel through which light can flow.

Each and every time I act in a way that is conscious and kind, I am actualizing my intention for my highest potential.

In offering compassion to others and myself through my daily choices I bring peace, healing and more light into the world.

Jess’s nourishing wisdom- Chickpea Fritters with Garlic Yogurt sauce

1 14 oz. can chickpeas, well drained 1 clove garlic, crushed 1cup cooked sweet potato 1tsp cumin ½ tsp turmeric ½ tsp coriander ½ cup fresh cilantro 1tsp sea salt 1 egg 1/3-cup flour of your choice ½ cup coked quinoa Extra cilantro for garnish Vegetable oil for cooking

Garlic Yogurt Sauce ¾ cup full fat organic plain Greek yogurt ½ tsp sea salt 1 clove garlic, crushed

  1. Combine all the ingredients for the Garlic yogurt sauce together in a small bowl and set aside in the refrigerator until you are ready to serve the fritters.

  2. Combine all of the fritter ingredients except the quinoa, in a food processor and pulse until just combined, with the chickpeas still retaining some texture. (Don’t over mix, as it will turn too mushy).

  3. Stir in quinoa by hand.

  4. Heat enough oil to cover the bottom of a large, heavy frying pan on the stove on medium heat. Using a small portion scoop or tablespoon, portion out heaping tablespoon of the batter into the oil; don’t over-crowd the pan.

  5. Cook for 2 - 3 min per side or until each side is crispy brown (you may need to add more oil during the cooking process).

  6. Serve immediately with the garlic yogurt sauce and extra cilantro for garnish.
